BR and credit file & others

Would my BR harm other peoples credit files that I live with?
Debts unsecured - no joint debts. No debts linked to the house. All unsecured loans.

Would me going BR mean their credit file is adversely affected?
Logic - my address being on the insolvency register so then people who live at the same address struggle to eat credit?

Can the OR “take” assets from your housel to pay the creditors if the house is not yours & the debts are unsecured?

Logic - can the OR say “ It’s your job to prove to me that you don’t own them not for me to prove it” - can they do what sheriffs do and take belongings if you go bankrupt?

Or is it once bankrupt that’s the end of it?

Thanks for the help

  • It may effect the other people registered in the same address if they went to get credit in the future.

Official receivers are not bailiffs so if you genuinely don't own expensive stuff that is in the house shared with others then thats fine.
  • Yeh honestly I don’t actually own nothing. Hence BR :-(

How can it make their credit rating worse if isn’t nothing to do with them?
I’m aware their address will be on the credit files & if a creditor searches to lend them money it might come up as an occupant at that address is BR. But why/how is that fair/ makes any sense?

If you know why it happens/ any links?

    Thank you
  • This is incorrect.
Credit decisions are based on that person only, as long as their is no joint credit apps it wouldn't effect them getting credit in the slightest.

an address cannot be black-listed. Your bankruptcy will not affect anyone at the address or their own personal file/history

However, if you have debt collectors showing up for an OUTSTANDING DEBT, then yes, they could be affected as you would need to provide proof if assets were to be removed that way
