Is this a scam?

Hi,
If a PPI policy was mis-sold before you were made bankrupt, any claim connected to it is counted as an asset, so is owned by the trustee, not by you, as part of the bankruptcy estate.
The letter you have received is most likely a generic junk mail offering sent out to thousands of homes.
Pop it in the recycle bin and carry on.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. You may be eligible to reclaim the PPI, and the claims management company would possibly get there 35%, but you would get nothing, as it would go to your creditors.

Hi there
As sourcrates correctly points out, you can make a PPI claim after bankruptcy but any money refunded would be taken by the OR who dealt with your bankruptcy. In some cases people end up owing money to the claims management company because the OR takes all of the refund and you will end up still being liable for the claims management company's fees. There will be no benefit in you making a claim so it's best avoided.
Best wishes
Susie
