Aspire Financial Management - majority owned by Aviva? Are they "Independent Financial Advisers"?

Prompted by something an Aviva Contact Team person mentioned last week, can anyone confirm whether Aviva majority own this firm of 250 (I)FAs via Tenet?

I was told that yes, maybe they can access "whole of Market".

Are they "Independent Financial Advisers"? Anyone?

No, they are not Independent Financial Advisers.

If they were, it would be clear on their website. Instead, they use many similar sounding phrases, such as;
"Access to a range of investments"
"We are not tied to any one product provider"

To confirm, give them a call tomorrow and ask them.
