    Well done Dan.

    Sometimes the system does work, and it goes to show it always pays to tell the creditor your situation rather than let them guess.

    They are more than happy that Im trying to sort my situation by myself. They stated on the phone all my creditors want to help me I need to approach and update my biggest creditor because they wanted to know about this. I believe now that lowell have written off this debt its more prove that I am unable to pay. So my biggest may just write off there's too

    I'll update more when I get it.

    A quick question

    If they decided to change there mind would this email count as prove as it's been written off / closed

    Yes. The email is evidence of what has been agreed. Keep it safe for at least six years... :)

    Edit: And well done. You are making excellent progress with dealing with your creditors.

    Brilliant I shall move it to a safe place.

    How will it affect my credit file now as I want to start looking at a DRO

    Well done - great news :) I'm sure that even though it's not all your debts sorted yet, this is already a great weight off your shoulders.

    Many thanks for the update. It's great when folk come back and update everyone after asking for advice. Sometimes we never hear back and are left wondering.

    This is what I referred to in your other thread
    You should know that if any creditor confirms the debt is written off (they probably won't but no harm in trying) then it does not need to be included.

    I struggled to find that as you have now started 7 threads on your situation.

    'The account has now been closed.' does not mean that the entry is removed from your credit report and may not mean that the DRO Unit can be persuaded that this is written off - they will certainly see it on your file.

    If I was your intermediary I would run that email past the DRO Unit ahead of considering a DRO application.

    But it's definitely a step in the right direction - maybe you won't need a DRO or bankruptcy after all.

    Clearscore vs noodle.

    Noodle lists all my debts 22k.

    Clearscore lists one debt of £332 and nothing else

    I don't understand how this works?

    There are three Credit Reference Agencies (CRAs). Lenders do not report to all three, sometimes just one, other times maybe two of them.

    You need to check with all three CRAs.
    ClearScore = Equifax.
    Noddle = TransUnion(ex CallCredit).
    The third one you should check is MSE Credit Club (= Experian).
