Time taken from valuation to offer - Metro

We had a valuation on Thu 30th Aug. Report was back with Metro on Mon 3rd. Valuation was spot on offer price.We were told that offer would be with us end of business Thu (yesterday). Just been informed by our broker that it was with a senior underwriter yesterday afternoon and should have been approved by end of business today (it's a large loan and apparently that is why). No news and of course the weekend now. Is this normal? What can cause delays(structure is sound and modern construction). Seems a terribly long time to offer as valuation was instructed weeks ago. Been an incredibly stressful period. Is this normal for Metro? They seem terribly slow and the broker has not been great and accelerating things....

Metro usually get there in the end, but they are slower as they process all cases manually.

There is also very little a Broker can do once it’s been submitted. They have a queueing system that deals with cases in order that they come in and only certain underwriters can deal with more complex / large cases.

All in all a good lender. Just needs patience from your side .
