Viewing HSBC mortgage online

I recently have taken out a HSBC mortgage and I would like to be able to view the balance etc online
I was told by customer services that I needed to register for telephone banking and make a security code which I did, but when I try and register for online banking on the HSBC website it asks me for current account/credit card/ investment account details not mortgage details... Am i missing something?

most HSBC mortgages do have a sort code and account number. although they're obviously not a current account, could you try putting those in the relevant fields and see if that works?0
