I enjoy a pasta bake when it is first cooked but when I reheat a portion in the mixcrowave it is never as moist. What can I added to it. I have tried tomato soup but it changes the taste too much. Any suggestions please. Thanks

Bit of olive oil is what I use, and whilst its not everyones choice I do use cling film with just a small steam hole so as much moisture as possible stays put0

I add a dash of water and microzapp with the lid mainly on. I do kinda like it when the edges go rubbery from zapping thoughCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

If you don't mind using packet sauces. (It doesn't bother me at all) Bisto do a cheese sauce, mix some of this up and add to the pasta to make the same as when previously cooked and then reheat.0

In a saucepan/frying with a splach of water and the lid on
Or in a microwave with the same method.
When you leave pasta bake overnight the pasta absorbs any spare moisture. You could try adding more liquid to the leftover bake and putting a lid on in of some kind to over moisten the pasta. However, this will make the pasta softer. It's a trade off. Or keep the sauce and pasta separate in pans, then mix and bake the next night. Or combine it, then, freeze it and cook from frozenNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
I've never had a problem reheating pasta bake, so wonder if the original was too dry to start with?0

Thanks for the suggestions. I have just tried adding some tomato passata to it as I reheat it in the microwave. Much better than tomato soup as it is more like the original flavour. I have also frozen the rest of the passaa in tow portions to add to my remaining two pasta bake portions when I eat them. Look like about a third of the passata was enough for one portion which works out just right as the tray I make the pasta bake in makes 4 meals and 3 portions of passta will go with the remaining 3 portions of pasta bake.0
