PayPal won't refund me

Custom made items are only covered for not received and are excluded from not as described disputes..
The greenhouse wasn't custom made, it was made to order. And PayPal agreed it wasn't as described and ruled in our favour for a full refund, but would only action that refund once the item was returned.
All it needed was the person on PayPal's end to have a little bit of common sense, look at the listing and realise the seller had delivered and built the greenhouse on-site and we weren't able to return it, they had to collect it. Proper "computer says no" moment.shaun_from_Africa wrote: »Another time you lost money through Paypal was also from not reading up on their protection requirements.
You sold a TV for which the buyer paid via Paypal then you allowed them to collect it, after which they claimed for non delivery.
This is a fairly common scam on ebay which is why paypal seller protection states that you must provide online viewable proof of delivery.
This was what taught me the lesson and, as I said to the OP, learn from it and never use them again.
In my case, I offered it cash only on collection. eBay's system noticed I was selling something electrical (I guess "Sony TV" in the title) and insisted I offered PayPal as a payment option - it wouldn't let me list without it as an option.
So in that case, I would argue eBay caused me to offer an option I didn't want to. Again, learnt my lesson and never used eBay since (and that was about 12 years ago).0 -
A while ago I made a purchase online, from what I believed to be a genuine site and paid with PayPal. I was then contacted by the seller saying he wouldn't be able to send the item and I needed to request the refund through PayPal. When I eventually navigated their site to find this, I opened a case for refund.
I then went on holiday and apparently missed the email from them saying I had 20 days to escalate it to actually get the money back.
They now tell me that because I missed this 20 days the case is closed and can not be reopened.
I've tried raising this with them via their email and through Twitter, but only ever get the same automated response of "you had 20 days..."
No one there seems able, or willing, to deal with my complaint.
Does anyone have any experience with PayPal and refunds? Is there another avenue I can try? (The seller is completely non responsive!)
It's only a small amount, but I now feel that I must pursue this.
You didnt need to open a case in the first place.0 -

Please do but do be aware that I paypal are not at fault here.
Paypal are just intermediatory. (They do offer protection and such but none of this was required here).
The seller is who you need to persue. Raise a small claims against them. If you do not have their name and address you should not have bought off them.
Sounds like the seller was a chancer and is just hoping people don't realise how to do what they tell them to right (like you). They probably just do this all the time.0 -
Can? anyone help.
I answered an advert for a Huwawei phone case on Google, It was one of these which offered cases for several models.and you chose your model from a drop down box. I ordered a P30 case and this was confirmed by an e mailed order summary from the seller. I received a case for a mate 20 instead.
I contacted seller advising of the problem and asked them to send the correct item and a returns label as the phone case was useless as it did not fit my phone. Their reply was as it was too expensive to return the case I should keep it and they would give me a 50% discount on any item on their site.
I told them this was not acceptable and opened a dispute on Paypal,, as I had never done this before they helped me do it over the phone .
I explained the problem and they logged it as "not as described" I queried this as I had received the wrong item and was told it would be ok as they were the same thing.
The seller did not respond and I then escalated to a claim, I then received a request from the seller via Paypal to send them a copy of my order summary which I did.
Paypal investigated the case and found not in my favour :because the item was not sufficiently different from the advert..
Any ideas
