Renting Issues - Discharged

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice.
I've been discharged from my bankruptcy for over 4 years, everything has now been settled and this is the only 'mark' on my credit file.
I need to rent a property ASAP but the 2 properties I have applied for have turned me down, despite being upfront about the bankruptcy.
I just wanted to check, am I doing something wrong? Or should I just give up all hope of finding a rental property
Thank you in advance.

Option 1 be less upfront.
Option 2 rent without using an agent.
Option 3 pay 6 months rent up front.Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)

Also try online with open rent, you deal with the landlord direct not an agency and they seem to take each case on its own merit.
My son lets his properties this way ...he likes to meet the tenants himself.0 -
Thank you both for your advice.
I haven't tried all of those steps (1 or 2) , but I did try 3 & sadly, the majority of the time I don't think it was even put to the landlord!
I stumbled upon OpenRent at around 2 am this morning, so I will look into this properly today.
Thank you both again for your help.0 -
Hi,
You could also go armed with all of your gas, electric, water and council tax account print outs to show them all up to date.
Where do you currently live? Any reference available from them?
