Xercise for less Zinc Group

Zinc Group on behalf of Xercise for less have been chasing money which they say I owe to them as I cancelled my direct debit two years after signing the 1 year contact. As I tried to cancel online but it said I didnt have account with them.
They are now saying I owe them around £170 in fees etc. But I have found in my contract it says this.
"You may prevent the Automatic Renewal at any time by giving notice to our Helpline (you should give us not less than 30 days notice).
When the final minimum period payment has been taken you should also cancel your Direct Debit mandate directly with your bank."
I understand from that if I am over the 11 months contract (the minimum period) I took out after the 11th month I can cancel the direct debit without charge. Is that correct?
