Reclaiming home owner loan administration fees

Hi, does anyone know how to or have any experience in claiming back home owner loan administration fees?
I am first time buyer with a hefty home owner loan. Halifax charged me a whooping £299.00 administration fee which I could not pay for at the beginning of the loan and hence it has been added to the full loan term of 25 years. I am not happy because I have to pay interest on the fee for the next 25 years! Can anyone help???!!!
Thanks,
Kelvin.

MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. I don't see what you'd be able to claim back
It was a fee for a service which was provided. As you couldn't pay it in the beginning, what choice was there but to add it to the mortgage?
If you now have the money to pay the fee upfront, can't you just make an overpayment of £300+ and then you aren't paying interest on it.
If you haven't got the money I can't see what you can do. You wanted the loan and you got it.
(and if your loan is 'hefty' I can't see that reducing it by £300 would make such a massive difference in the short term):A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:A
