Places to sell train tickets?

Hi,
I have an advance train ticket from London Marylebone to Leamington Spa that I bought and am unable to make the journey or return journey.
Is there a place that I can resell/ get an exchange on my tickets?

You can't get a refund but for a £10 fee + any price difference you can get them changed if you need to make the journey in future.

    Train tickets are non-transferable.

In practice this is meaningless. I can buy a ticket for another person if I wish. Providing the person travelling has the appropriate railcard if that is mentioned on the ticket who will know or care?

The OP's problem is finding someone who wants to go from London to Leamington on a particular day.

I don't know - it seems very similar to me. One person buys the ticket and another uses it. Whether it's my child, a friend or a total stranger.

It's a meaningless condition of sale in practice. Unless it's a Eurostar ticket with the passenger's name printed on it, there is no knowing how many times the ticket has been passed on or sold. Why should the railway company worry as long as the ticket is only used once?

Do good and good will come to you.
  • Depending on the ticket type, OP, you may be able to get a refund from the train operating company, minus an admin fee (£10 I think).
