Mortgage refused because of stone cladding on new-build
HSBC are refusing to lend on properties with cladding as well now. They said they won’t be able to lend on a property I have an offer on unless a cladding report is presented
We own a flat we are trying to sell in London, that was built by Barrats 17 yrs ago.
It does not have cladding, but has a concrete core, and it has polystyrene outer insulation, with a mesh applied, to which the external is rendered.
However , we too are finding it impossible to sell, as valuers are saying they want: " a statement post-dating 1 Jan 2019, from a suitably qualified professional to confirm the building meets the requirements of current guidance from MHCLG (Advice Notes 14 & 18)"
Now, unless your building was built in the last 6 months, you can't possibly provide that, so even though our building isn't clad, we are still at an impasse!!!!
It's ridiculous!
