Eb@y surprised me recently and repeated their £1 fee for sales. I advertised 8 items, 5 items of which netted £118.50. I TTed this to £120 and sent it on it’s way to BTL1. OH said early they really wanted to keep the remaining items, so I duly cancelled three sales before the bids surpassed 99p!

Am on holiday at the moment, during which my spontaneous purchase of a good quality summerhouse was erected at home. This purchase together with training for and completing an endurance challenge in March has taken my funds and attention away from my mortgage-free goals (but I’m still very pleased I did both!). Since being on holiday I have tried to focus on completing at least two finance-related tasks so that I once again can start prioritising being DF. I know myself that I am not very good at succeeding at concurrent projects, so being DF must be my top priority when I return home.

Have started my 21-day finance cleansing project again which entails dedicating 20 minutes to any finance activities I so wish with the view to saving >£1k by the end. I have completed this twice before and each time, the exercise has yielded me this amount (and significantly more if they involved remortaging for a lower rate).

Have noted some bills due which I will pay on payday later this week and also transferred a small sum to BTL1 to reduce the balance below £89k to £88,999! :)

    Will be back tomorrow!

Ok, so I lied and didn’t come back the day after the above post, but my 21-day challenge has been keeping me busy! The beginning of the 21-day exercise focuses on clearing out and catching up on financial issues (and on emotional isues to a lesser extent) so the way can be made clear to focus on extra savings/earnings.

So, if I’m been focusing on picking up my previous good financial habits and catching up incl. submitting my tax info to Euro accountant early and investigating a cheaper mobile phone option as my current EEE iPh0ne contract runs out in 10 weeks).

I did transfer £40 to BTL1 mortgage yesterday as this brings me over £10k overpayment since I first came on this forum last August. Not much spare cash otherwise due to previous euro BTL improvements last year which will yield me tax credits for 2019 & 2020, plus purchase of summerhouse which I have repainted recently. Plus my focus must be on BTL improvements to reduce what will otherwise be another eye-watering tax bill this year!

I did check a couple of times ;)

Well done on early submission to Euro accountant. It's my aim (although not sure how reasonable) to get mine & OH's personal tax stuff (inc BTL) to the accountant this calendar month...

    Hi greent

Good to know someone’s looking out to see if I am keeping to my word! ;)

Hope you completed your tax returns in April as planned. You have inspired me to complete my UK tax returns in May. I’d better, as I suspect you might check in on me!

Sooo, life got in the way of my 21-day plan, including adopting 3 year old cavapoo (who absconded for 24 hours, but was found by a kind stranger who had read out “Looking for Lola”post on FB!).

So, I am actually on Day 10 and so far I have:

    - Earned £125 on eBay sales during £1 sales fee special. Watching the bidding is exciting, packaging and posting sold items during my work day is less so!
    - Recouped a very old debt of £335
    - (Very nearly) decided my mobile phone plan (if I can find a second hand mobile of my choice for sale) when my current contract expires.

Seperately, a tenant paid a considerable amount of rent in advance, which I directed toward my old fave, BTL1!

So, life is returning to normal and my 21-Day plan continues...
