How to resign without serving notice period

Assuming the OP is salaried and paid monthly then if he were to leave on the day he is paid then he could end up owing the company money as it is normal to pay on, say, 25th of the month for the calendar month.
I don't think it is normal to be paid on the 25th of the calendar month. Every company will have its own pay day and this could literally be any day of the month!
Either way it is always better to be the one owing money as to be the one owed it!0 -

I did use the phrase "say, 25th of the month" to indicate it was an example.0 -

Whilst you've clearly missed the fact that 25th of the month was an example; I am actually paid on or around 25th, so for me, it's entirely normal.0 -

27th here, unless it's a weekend.
So again I would owe time0 -
Every Thursday here is payday.
OP, I would go to HR and say your mother is very ill with cancer, you want to leave to support her, which is near enough right, just not mention the other job. You can ask to leave this week, but I'd think if they said can you work 1-2 weeks whilst we hand over work, that would not be unreasonable, given that they would be releasing you from a 3 month notice.0 -

Yes, payday is Thursday. Thanks - that is what I was thinking of doing.
I'm hoping that they let me leave with immediate effect, as I also get the sense that they are also trying to performance manage me out of the company.
During performance appraisals - they have started making up excuses to give me low ratings.
In which case, I'm hopeful that me offering to leave straight away might actually work out well for both parties.
The only question is whether my Line Manager will want to hold on to me to make me do pointless admin for him for 3 months (because I can do it much faster than him).0 -
Also - I did tell both my Line Manager and his boss about the cancer - they were surprisingly unsympathetic.
So this isn't something that will come out of the blue.0 -
Also, I wanted to point out that it's not just me - two other people tried to complain about this person. They fired one of them - and forced the other one to move to the a different team by making her life hell.0

Not sure how that's relevant; you want to leave anyway...0 -

It's relevant in that it shows that I'm not just imagining things - and that I'm not the problem. It's horrible when you spend 5 years thinking that you're the problem - but when other people came forward, I realised that it wasn't me.0
