i went on the first day it opened. it has the usual shops, but nothing that hit me as special. yo sushi looks like fun but it wasn't open yet on that day.
mostly clothes stores, from what i could see (plus the debenhams and the M&S)
personally i didn't like the design of the mall...it is one floor with high ceilings and once inside each shop you have to go upstairs...i think its on a less 'human' scale than i like. but can't fault them for the quality of materials used in the build.
the parking lot has been chockablock since it opened. i might go if i want a specific store or food outlet but i think for the time being i'll do my hanging out in braehead. (never say never)0 -
I agree there. it's rather huge and intimidating. They're doing a so called "soft opening" which means all the stores aren't open yet and there's still a large area that's out of bounds that they're still building.
All the usual chain stores and nothing out of the ordinary and all the traffic has to filter through one roundabout so unless they open another exit somewhere else it's always going to be horrendous at the weekends.
Still I'll go there as it's very close to me, I'll probably never go to braehead again unless I'm at IKEA.Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -
I went the other week and can only agree with the other posters, I was surprised it was only on one level - it looks massive! What shops do you need to go upstairs in wolfehouse? I would rather miss the 'soft opening' and go when its fully 'fucntioning' as it feels like a bit of a wasted journey even though its just up the road from me.. Its good having a debenhams near by though.:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin0

Hi Pollok ite here too! Personally I love it just what this area needed and needs looks brilliant shops are fantastic although some right pricey ones like LK Bennett But gets a big thumbs up here!
Better than the old pollok centre.Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
There is a sneaky way in for all those people in the know.....
If you get onto Peat Road (it's out the back of Silverburn) where the medical centre is there is a road that weaves it way round to the multi-storey and M&S car park. It will save many a minute I'm sure.
Consult your road maps people!0 -
We went the first weekend it opened (not clever!) and it took us about 20 mins to find a parking space. Won't be going back at weekends, that's for sure.
The Next is nice and big, but was disappointed that the Boots wasn't big and neither was H&M.
I actually liked the design, the high ceilings, it seems wide and spacious.0 -

sshhhhh........dont tell everybody that;) .......thats been our sneaky way in last weekend especially Sunday afternoon when the traffic was queued wayyyy back, thought the centre was okay, probly be better when all the shops open .dont really like Braehead, have come to LURVE the FORT, though I wasnt keen at first as its an outside mall, it has a really good atmosphere though.cheerio hen0 -
Went to the Debenhams open night and both myself and my friend thought it was rubbish. The one in Glasgow is much better with more choice of stores but perhaps most the stores Debenhams doesnt have are ones that are in the shopping centre so thats prob why.

I think you need to give it a chance the shopping centre plans to have most shops open for the 1st dec the garden will come later I love it M&S and Debenhams all in one place better than Argyle st any day lolIsn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0

It's just down the road from me & 2 of my daughters work there, well one will start when her shop opens.
One works in New Look which I liked, it was really big.
Not really impressed with the place as a whole though, I thought the M&S food hall was a bit small. The only thing that'll make me go regularly is Argos as I use that a lot.0
