Joint account - poor credit

I have a poorish credit history and therefore i dont want to open a joint account with my partner because that will mess up her rating. However can i have the utility bills in joint names without it affecting her credit rating?

Thanks

Bob

  • Hi Bobbin Ed - welcome to DFW. It's a good question; I don't know the answer, but I'm sure someone will be along soon to give you an answer.

I don't remember seeing any utility bills on my credit file when I looked at it last, so I assume it doesn't go on there. However, it may become more of an issue if the bills don't get paid.
