I’ve set up the standing order for my ISA now, so I’m happy about that. Also got confirmation from StepChange that they’ve altered the opening balances as I got them slightly wrong
One thing that looks a little odd is the payment amounts they’ve listed for each creditor. Their ‘previous payments’ amounts are way out. I didn’t enter them so I’m not sure what data they’ve used to assume what they were. I don’t suppose it matters though.0 -
Good luck on your debt free journey. We are also on a DMP with SC. Great that you have an emergency fund. We jumped straight into ours without one, which was a mistake.
Good luck with the NSD's tooSPC 0760 -

Thank you! Is there any way that you could pause to create an emergency fund? I wouldn’t have thought of it without MSE0 -
Good evening,
Unfortunately not as we are now 2 1/2 years into our DMP. But if we go self managed, that is the first thing we will doit is ticking along nicely, so unsure when we will do that though.

It's just so easy with SC isn't it? I was tempted to start self managed but I've been so stressed for so long I decided to take the simple route!0 -
So one week into September and it's looking good. Have had a couple of evenings out but as I haven't been drinking spending has been minimal. I'm out again tonight, but again we're driving so no spending
Have found the first Christmas present that I want to buy so I WILL get started on that presents spreadsheet! Need to put birthdays on too.
Am looking forward to the first payment going out for my DMP on the 1st of October. I'm hoping I'll feel like I'm FINALLY reducing the debt! It's very odd not just whipping the credit card out for everything :rotfl:0 -
So today I took another scary step - went to the GP and got myself diagnosed with anxiety  I know that part of my anxiety is debt related, much as part of my debt is anxiety related :rotfl: I thought that as I was sorting out my finances I might as well try and get everything else sorted too.
Still getting lots of YOU ARE IN ARREARS letters from creditors, am filing them away in a shiny new ring binder so that I have everything I could ever need :cool:0 -
