air wick refils....possibly to refil yourself

i use the air wick plug ins on occassions ,as we have a dog, and a hubby thats got the smelliest feet ever.....plus boys being boys.....in our house decide to have a farting contest...  ( i am sure that this doesnt only happen in our house )

i have been buying the refills to go in them..... and this morning while i was having my cuppa in peace and quiet.. ( hubby working mornings and the kids have gone to branshatch with granparents to watch the truck racing ..so will not be back until sunday night )

the wick thing comes out easily...... so you could put rose water or water with essential oils added... and to solve the problem of the wick...( as it will be smelling of the old secent)

My hubby smokes rolls....... so has his own filters the slim line ones that comes in a long tubes .. and a tube fits perfectly where the wick goes......

and it looks as though its the same stuff......... just a little trim to make it the same length as the original wick... and hay presto......

i also dry clothes on the rads....so in the rest of the house the smell of the drying clothes... scents the other rooms...... but there is no radiator in the living room.......so once this refil runs out i will be having a go..

not only will it be a lot cheaper/thrifty..... its also great for keeping your waste down......

especially as now they are doing pilot schemes for paying for the amount of rubbish you bin......

Have you put your own oils/scents in? I would be interested to see if this works as I find that the refills are terribly expensive. You may as well buy a whole new plug in thing, by the time you have paid for a refill!

I think i might have a play around with my empty bottle....

AIr freshers don't freshen the air, they pollute it. Open the windows, gets some flowers or use natural oils. All probably cheaper/better than fresheners anyway.

i normally do use essential oils.. but now that i am not home all day... when we come home the house is smelly 'doggy' as the dog has been in all day.....

so thats why we bought the air wick plug ins.....not ideal i know, but when you come home ..from work, and friends arrieve at the same time.. and you open the front door, and the there is a lovely dog smell greating you.. not nice......
