Think Money

Anyone use Think Money for their basic account?

Convienient online set up, help with managing money and the pre paid MasterCard - but £17.50 a month!!

Doubt that would be a justifiable expense to the OR would it?

    Hi there

I wouldn't advise paying for a bank account, and I agree that it's highly unlikely the OR will find it a reasonable outgoing. A basic bank account is recommended, particularly if you are bankrupt as most other accounts will be difficult to open. There may be some board members along soon who can also speak from personal experience.

    Best wishes

My advice is to open a nationwide basic bank account, this can be done online via their website without any hassle. I would not pay for an account as there's no need to do so. Why do you need a prepayment credit card? Nationwide basic bank account comes with contactless debit card. Hope you get sorted
  • Hi - I can’t use nationwide as I have a CC with them. Going to open an account with the Co-op ...
  • I have a thinkmoney account and its okay. Decent app , faster payments and so on. But support can be slow and the system does go down often! They are not bad and I will continue to use them for a time, but more and more am using Monzo in app banking. Great system , no monthly fees but not sure if they accept people who have been made bankrupt. the £17.50 for thinkmoney will be steep for some, but I have it attached to one of my paypal accounts so use it often with that. Thats the only reason i keep it.
  • no notice about the fees, opened a TM account... told em to stick it
