I have spent exactly 30 days trying to get proof of purchase from John Lewis, so that I can claim my £40 cashback from AEG. First I was told I had never bought a dryer from JL. Then I persevered and was told I had "failed to supply my email address". Funny, because JL hold all my details! now I am negotiating a copy of a VAT receipt. A lot of work in order to get what I was promised at the time of purchase ie £40 cash back. Why don't they just discount the price???

If you bought it online you can just go into your account, click on the relevant order and by the order summary is an arrow that says "VAT receipt" which you click and can then print off.
