I'm getting conflicting advice regarding Stamp Duty to be paid on the house I'm about to buy.

The quote I received from the Solicitor showed £0 to be paid, but now I've had the contract through it states £399 to be paid?

I'm waiting for the solicitors to open so I can phone but just wondering if the relief that the Revenue Scotland page mentions hasn't come into force yet?

Would changing solicitors at this stage impact the mortgage offer? Or is it two totally separate things?

Your choice of solicitors doesn't affect the amount of LBTT payable, so not sure why you're asking about that? Not sure what you mean by "the contract" - the missives don't normally mention LBTT.

You'll need to tell us more about the transaction if you want us to tell you how much the LBTT ought to be e.g. price and whether you're a first time buyer.

It's all good, it was a mistake on the contract sent out by the solicitor. No LBTT payable, thanks for your input.
