Child injury compensation

Hi,

I am currently undischarged bankrupt. I have received yesterday cheque for injury compensation for my child (£700).
As it was settled before court, so the cheque was issued on my name. Can I keep the money? Do I need to let OR know? Should I simply transfer that to Child ISA, as it is not my money? Do I still need to let OR know? :)

Comments

  • I would certainly let the OR know, just inform the OR of what the money is for.

The last thing you want to do is be hiding stuff from the OR.

Let the OR know anyway but I would take the view that, if the money has been awarded to your child as compensation, it should be of no interest to them.
