Discharge Notice

Hi all
Hope all is well.
Just a quick question if anyone can help.
I've almost sorted cleaning up my credit file with just one remaining (NEXT). They are saying that in order for them to update their records I need to supply proof of discharge. I don't think I received anything in writing as from what I can remember discharge is automatic for most people after 12 months.
I can see that I can ask for a 'Discharge Notice' for a fee but before I do this, i just wanted to ask if they definitely need it or are they being picky.:)
Thanks all
WW

Hi WW
The Insolvency Service will have informed the credit reference agencies about your discharge so they can update the public information on your credit file. Next could check this. Be aware that the bankruptcy itself is still recorded on your credit file for 6 years.
Alternatively you can get a free confirmation letter by emailing discharge.queries@insolvency.gsi.gov.uk. You'll need to provide your full name, date of birth, current and previous address, National Insurance number and court reference number.
Best wishes
Susie
