    Are you married / living with a long term partner? If so, it would be worth sitting down and planning together - hopefully you would both still be together when you retire, and having individual provision, rather than one of the partnership relying largely on the other's pensions is most sensible IMO

    I think when people do retire mostly they are on cheaper lifestyles simply because they didn't save enough. Its rare in cases that people have enough and only live with in what they can afford.

    I also see many people helping family which usually is the case as times have been getting more difficult financially for most depending on what part of the country you live in or the lifestyle you wish to maintain being key factors.
