TSB mortgage application

Hi, I am a first time buyer that has applied for a mortgage with TSB. We only applied today and have already been informed that valuation has been booked for tomorrow. Does anyone know if this means they have done the hard credit check or if this takes place after the valuation? This might sound like a stupid question but as first time buyers we are not sure.

They didn't appear to do a hard search on us, we had some delays with the gifted deposit form but once that was sent off, we received a confirmation of a mortgage offer a week later.0
