  • I lost interest as I found it to fussy to set up.

I use my trusty notebook and iphone to see whats going on.

I find the diaries and success stories more motivating than spending hours pouring over YNAB tbh.

Hmm, I might give this a try seeing as there is a two month free trial

Thought I would come back to this post now. I gave up on using YNAB from my original post, I just didn't get it, and it just didn't work

Then my friends pointed me in the direction of this awesome help video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPVEB759gkU&t=1808s it's 34 minutes long, but after one watch it clicked with me, and I saw where I had been going wrong, took me maybe 20 mins that night to set it up (it wasn't hard) and it's been amazing ever since, granted I have only been using it two weeks, but it has already changed the way I budget and how I think about money

If you click the link from that video there is a 2 month free trial.

Oh and I found it much easier setting it up on the laptop, naming of things and setting budgets etc, but I have the app on my phone as well, which is good for logging spends and checking balances etc, some might like the phone app, I personally prefer the laptop app, but the phone app isn't rubbish (don't know if that even makes sense lol)
