before moving permanently to start life in a new country, would it be a good idea to obtain a travel visa for only a couple of months at most but only as a tourist to visit the country where one would like to settle down for good to start looking for a job so like that one can secure a job before actually moving there for good? this is what i mean, i was born in el salvador but would like to secure a job in santiago, the capital before actually moving to santiago for good after my future wife will petition me to move over with her for good! what i was thinking of doing before moving to chile permanently is to go to chile but only on a tourist visa for a month or two and when i arrive start looking at the local newspapers to see what kind of jobs would be available for me to apply to like lets say a self employed truck driver, newspaper delivery courier, ect.... and after those two months are over return to el salvador assuming that i had gotten in contact with an employer to secure a job. i dont know if i would be able to secure a job via the internet without actually looking at local newspapers but only for santiago assuming that i had gone as only a tourist. can i secure a job without having to go to santiago on a tourist visa via the internet only? this is gonna be the tricky part as far as how to secure a job without ever stepping foot in chile.............. i feel lonely like i have help from no one and like im gonna have to do everything alone and this part scares me because i dont want to make mistakes along the way! how do people secure jobs before moving to a country that theyve never been to let alone stepped foot on? can someone please tell me what to do? i dont want to fail. im confused here. can you kindly reply back. thank you.

The first thing people will tell you to do is to break your post into paragraphs because it's quite hard to read.
The second thing would be to check with the Chilean embassy. In some countries I believe it's relatively straightforward to enter on a tourist visa and apply for a longer stay once you're there. In others it's pretty much impossible.
The third would be, if your future wife is already living there, to find out about the entry requirements for spouses.
however, good on you for checking before you arrive. I know a young man who followed his fiancee out to a different country: she had a two year contract and he blithely assumed he'd be able to pick up work, any kind of work, once he was there. When he arrived he found that the ONLY expats working were those who'd been transferred by their employers from the UK, or who'd been offered a job before they arrived. Because as in the UK, many foreign nationals needed a work permit.
In general it is a good idea to get to know a new country before you move there for good, but then again, it's a good idea to get to know it at all times of year, which isn't always possible. But if you get there and hate it, you may be looking into ways of getting your future wife into the UK!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

If you delve deeply enough into the wall of text I think you'll find that the OP is currently living in El Salvador ("...after those two months are over return to el salvador..."), and with no mention of the UK anywhere I suspect your suggestion isn't going to happen.0
