Moving banks before Mortgage Application

We are currently trying to get ourselves in the best possible situation.
I know any credit checks before applying can harm your chances but basically my husband and I have separate bank accounts with separate banks. Our money is all one so in order to manage accounts better we are thinking of just having the one account where both salaries are paid into and bill paid from. I would go to his bank as I am with tsb and with all the recent changes would rather move. I have been an account t holder for 18 years so would it look bad to move? We are looking to move in the new year so around 4/5 months.
