Not sure if it is bedroom furniture you are after however if it is -

My sister was all set to buy a sleigh bed in John Lewis last year. Whilst the sales advisor was off checking on something to do with delivery my nosy sister was poking about some paperwork on the desk and saw something from a company called Heirloom Beds

    http://www.heirloombeds.co.uk/

well she tracked them down and eventually got her sleigh bed there - even with a delivery charge to Scotland it was about half what she had seen in JL and other stores.

That's a great idea, find out who makes it for John Lewis and go direct.
Anyone know who makes their sofas ? Thanks.

Have just had a fumble round mine and no labels saying about the manufacturer :( I know it was made to order though

If anyone is still looking for cheaper JL products, the Southampton store had a 'warehouse sale' last July and I got the chair to go with my 2 sofas for half price (frame had a small split which we fixed for £1 + 2 nails) and some other made to order products that had obviously been returned. Even discounts for dirty sofa covers, lol!

Also many other home items with big discounts and even some appliances.

  • On another tack! ..... does anyone know who makes john lewis dining furniture. As we like the J L quality but cannot afford their prices i 'trailed ' the net to find out who made their kitchens cabinets and was successful so now i would like to do the same with their dining room furniture!

    Thanks
  • My parent in-laws have their own furniture store Gorgeous Interiors in Coventry, its independent but they sell alot of stock that is also found in John Lewis but without the JL price tag, I defo recommend that you look around.

  • Some of the John Lewis stores have a warehouse sale once a month, this usually consists of ex display stock or customer returns which may have slight flaws/damage. Usually the guarantees are the same as if you buy in the shop. I've seen tvs, iPads, washing machines, fridges and various different types of furniture up for grabs and it goes quickly.
Warehouse sales are normally held at their service buildings and people start queuing early in the day for it. I have seen leaflets in my local store for them up in the technology department. Worth asking in your local store about it to see if they do them but as far as I'm aware most stores do them.
They do clearance twice a year, after christmas and usually around the end of June and sometimes they have items on furniture on special buy so cheaper than usual.
I realise this is an old thread but may be helpful.
