Booked a Drs appt, earliest I could get was 19 Sept as it'snot an emergency. Hopefully they can refer me to physio.

Yeah I think its just going to have to be upperbody work, so frustrating waiting for the knee to heal!

Just remember your work is only as good as your rest when it comes to your exercise! Where possible try keeping up Pilates core exercises (back, sides and thighs as well as abs) as this will help when you return to walking and exercises that use your legs.

My experience of NHS physio is that it was OK for some very basic stuff but nowhere near as good as a sports specialist. You may also find there is a long waiting list.

I was fortunate in that I have access to private physio through work but would still pay to go private in the future if this was no longer available to me.

The sooner you can see someone the better....

When I had my knee replaced they automatically booked me into physio immediately for both individual assessment and the knee class (that was actually fun)

When I approached my GP for an unrelated problem I was referred to physio and had to wait 6 weeks. All they did was assess me and give some exercises to do. This was for a middle back problem. Our GP surgery had a chiropractor who rented rooms and he was brilliant and sorted out my back.

The NHS won't use chiropractors (to quote Esther Rantzen, unless of course you know different) so I had to pay but by block booking it was reasonable and it was worth every penny.

Sorry got a bit sidetracked but the moral here is if you can afford to go private it's worth it.

I'm saving up to have other knee done, shouldn't need it for at least 5 years but by that time I'll probably fall off my perch by the time I get to the top of the list :D
