Under the changes to the state pension age, your State Pension age is between 65 years, 3 months, 5 days and 65 years , 4 months, 8 days depending on your exact birthdate......direct from gov.uk website.

According to this, you should get the new state pension within five weeks on reaching the state pension age, so no later than April, depending on where your birthday falls: https://www.gov.uk/new-state-pension/what-youll-get
Where did the information that you won't get it until May come from?
Update: Just seen MK62's reply and having checked this, they are correct. Your state pension age is not 65, but 65 years and a few months. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
You haven't told us your sex but assuming Female then May looks correct
This link may help.

Basically the government changed the State Pension age0 -
Possibly because it is paid in arrears. My first (part) payment was around 3 weeks after I qualified.0

Or op is not entitled to get it when he/she is 65??0

As the OP isn't 65 until next year, their gender won't matter, as the State Pension Age will have equalised for men and women by the end of this year.0 -
