Have you ever won a prize for an event/ movie/ celebrity meet etc that you've had to bluff (lie etc) your way around a situation or even prior to the event you've read up on a place you're going to visit. Listened constantly to a celebrity previous albums when you thought they'd only released the one current one?
Maybe the prize was a brand new phone or top range TV but you had to collect in person after you'd watched a tedious act you have no cure for.

Yes
Years ago I entered and won a competition that I read as for an iPad. I think it was a C2W. What I had overlooked was that it was also to win a signed copy of the latest CD from Noah Francis Johnson, who I'd never heard of
Anyway, there was a long delay in getting my iPad. After a few emails, I got a telephone call from the man himself. He was sooooooo lovely and friendly. I had to pretend to be a fan. He offered to send me tickets to see his show in London. I said we were broke and couldn't afford the train fare.
He even phoned again to apologise for the delay and ended up sending me £500 instead of the iPad, along with his signed CD, which I think I still have.

I flippantly entered a competition to win tickets to a football match and I of course didn't read the T&Cs.
I was lucky enough to win but then realised upon reading the winning email bumph that it was seats inside the children's enclosure, complete with a goody bag and meet and greet with the clubs mascot before the game.
My 6"5 feller didn't fancy a "Rodney - Only Fools and Horses" moment, so we gave the tickets to a family friend and his little boy who had a great day.
...I've learned my lesson to read T&Cs going forwards!

I had a mishap once where I didn't read the Ts&Cs before entering, won & it turned out to be for collection for a particular area. Oops! -Just noticed they still printed my details in their mag:o & it's online grrrI flippantly entered a competition to win tickets to a football match and I of course didn't read the T&Cs.

I always try to read the Ts&Cs now before entering but in June, I got home late evening and opened facebook to see Holland & Barrett were having a live giveaway, you know the type, a minute to answer the question and win the current prize. I won one, only to then read the Ts&Cs properly (I'd only glanced at them before hand to make sure it was UK entry, age requirement ect) - it was being run by a PR company and not H&B themselves? But the rest of the Comps run on the H&B social media are promoted by H&B themselves rather than a PR company. That's had me in a bit off a jitter. I know it's common for PR companies to run a comp on behalf of a company but it they only did it for those live comps that had me confused. I will be sure to read properly before entering anything now, although I'm taking a break.2018 wins-12wins0
