Name and shame them!
Had to discuss with an assistant once that a student discount of 10% didn't mean she needed to do two separate transactions because it would make it 20%.
(I don't think she'd worked there for long).
Other blonde moments (I say that myself being a blonde not to be offensive!) have been explaining that a voucher of £10 and 20% off were better applied the other way around and no they wouldn't work out to being the same thing (purchase was £30) -assistant had to get out a calculator to prove me right.
Or that 20p for an item costing £1 originally was in fact an 80% reduction (shopper at Tesco was adamant that it was not an 80% reduction and that he had expected 80% off).
Or that 2 for £1.50 in Waitrose (£2.20 each) was not applied if only 20p came off my shopping at the end (assistant tried to convince me the offer had been applied). She had to get a supervisor over to explain to me her ...theory, only to be stuck silent when the supervisor explained to her she wasn't correct on this one.0 -

'Twas these. On reflection, calling them "luxury" might have been a bit of an exaggeration.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
