Fixed Rate Ending & Moving

Hi there,
My fixed rate deal ends on 31/1/19. I want to put the apartment for sale in May 2019 so there will be 6 months or so in-between? When we move I want to put my partner onto the mortgage too. I know you can port a mortgage but would end up with 2 parts to the mortgage with different end dates. What are my options?

Stay on SVR or switch to a penalty-free tracker product in the interim, if your lender offers one.
If you can do it fee-free, it may even be worth remortgaging to a new lender for such a product, to avoid SVR on a larger mortgage.

Thank you for this. I'm with RBS currently so I am guessing it may best to stick with them on a tracker if they offer it or move to the SVR. The only problem with SVR is its an extra 100 a month.
I agree it needs to be as clean as possible and penalty free so that when I sell its clean.0
