Just closed my Vanquis card!

Hey! I just closed my Vanquis card! It was my first credit card (£500 limit since 2014!). I closed it because I had been thinking about it for a while, and just thought I dont really need it, and I currently have a second card with a much bigger limit and lower interest. I’m basically just not wanting to have lots of debt in my name. I’ve built my savings in the last few months, have goals I’m aiming for - financial independence and buying a place, and I’ve found a way of managing my money that works for me- piggybacking/having different pots for different things and I’m enjoying it. I turned 25 in March and to be honest this is the thing I wanted for myself , to get a good confident grip of my finances and build up my savings more seriously. I’m still just at the beginning but I’m happy with it. I will continue to build up my savings and I want to use my own money for things. I hope to buy a place in the next year or two... I hope I’ve not made a mistake!

Managing without credit, and living within your means, is a good choice.
People who constantly live in the credit bubble will always be in hock to someone.
