The decs are up!!

:T Ok I know MSE is under a lot of strain at the mo so I won't put the pics here but my decs are up :D Am I mad.. YEAH! but me and my husband love christmas and we do it every year for our wedding anniversary :eek:

Had a new tree this year which was a nightmare - you had to assemble it branch by branch!!!!

Excuse me but it's only 2nd November! Although I have all cards and presents (not wrapped or written), I don't do Christmas until December after my late November birthday has passed.

Decorations go up on birthday and come down on my brother's December 2nd to 5th January..plenty of time to enjoy all the tinsel

oh come on dont be down on me I love christmas and it seems such a waste to put in so much effort and only do it for a few weeks!

My goodness, I can't imagine the state our decs would be in by Christmas if we put them up now!! 5 kids, a 2 1/2 year old springer and a springer puppy would wreck them in hours!! Our decs go up 2 weeks before christmas and come down on twelth night, dogs get banned from the room unless someone is with them and kids always eat any chocolate decorations as soon as they go on the tree (and thenshape the foil so it looks like there is still chocolate in it and hang it back on the tree - like I won't notice!)

Anyhow, just wanted to say that I have had a nosey at your piccies and love your Christmassy R2-D2!

LOL thanks a lot the christmas R2 is my baby artoo wearing the kids santa outfits that I was too weak to throw away LOL

I don't blame you for putting the tree up at that time when you have such a busy house you poor woman! I bet it's a tug on the heart strings kicking the dogs out too lol poor little things aha.

Thanks so much for your kind comment it reminded me of when i was little and used to shape the foil like I hadn't eaten the chocolate - i'd totally forgot I used to do that :D

The things some people will do to get their hands on the Christmas Tree chocolate! I am looking for some nice chocolate to hang on my tree again this year - any tips? Plus I am still a dab hand at carefully removing the chocolate from its wrapping, leaving a hollow wrapper on the tree - a skill I learnt when I was a toddler...tee hee hee.

LOL Horace your posts always make me chuckle. I don't put chocolates on the tree is that bad lol. They're always so flipping expensive! I can't wait until my mom does hers though because i'm going to tell the kids and see if they do a sneaky swipe :D

Actually it could backfire.. they might try eating the decs off our tree when they get home:eek: :rotfl:

We've put the tree up on the 6th november every year because we always go to blackpool for a week for our anniversary. This year though we couldnt afford to go so we treated ourselves to something that was free and popped the xmas cd on 6 days early

I did ponder it because now my son is getting old enough to know about christmas and I didn't want him to wait forever but the second he walked through the door and shouted WOW I felt so pleased.

I've been shopping all year and started wrapping and making cards two months ago:eek: Mom and dad would always make me wait when i was little and now I'm an adult i make the rules
