Hi,
has anyone had experience using them when buying a new build?
they claim to have a 20% market share on the new build market and do more new build mortgages than Halifax.
thanks

Part of Connells and ultimately owned by Skipton BS.
It's a broker rather than a lender, so the comparison with Halifax is somewhat redundant.I am a mortgage broker. I am in the process of buying a new build from Bellway and we are using the new homes group as our broker. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has dealt with them to find/apply for a mortgage0

We have just gained a mortgage with a bellway new build using them - you need to keep chasing them but they got us a good deal in the end0

i made this thread because i was worrying unnecessarily - brief timeline:
mortgage interview - 3rd Aug
Valuation the following week
Needed additional docs 15th Aug
Offered a mortgage 21st Aug
the process prob would have been quicker but we had a baby on 7th August so didnt pester them for updates for a week or so0 -

I would be interested to know a bit more about the process of applying for a mortgage with the new homes group if you don't mind. I am like you and worrying before I have even had the advisor come over (she is coming next week). We have paid our reservation fee to Bellway and an agreement in principle has been approved with new homes group. We have an advisor coming over on 30th August to go through the mortgages with us and begin the application. They have asked me to send over lots of paperwork before next week (payslips, bank statements, proof of deposit etc). For some reason, I have it in my head that we won't be offered a mortgage/be able to borrow what we need, despite the agreement in principle! Did an advisor come to your house too and what did they go through with you? She has explained it briefly to me over the phone, saying they will show a list of lenders and mortgage deals and go through each one with us.0
