Hello everyone,
I will need to embark on a DMP very soon. I am currently in the process of itemising all my debts.
I am just wondering if anyone can advise the best company or organisation to use in their opinion? I was considering going with Stepchange.
Many thanks in advance

StepChange is a very good choice. They are an excellent free debt counselling serviceI work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job0 -
Most people tend to opt for either StepChange or Payplan - both offer free advice and management of a DMP. You might also want to consider self-managing -which is much easier these days and for that I'd suggest you go over and look at this site: https://nedcab.cabmoney.org.uk/ whether you choose to use the services of an agent or self-manage - the nedcab site has lots of very useful information on DMPs.0

Do not be tempted to use a fee charging company for this service.

Thank you Willing2learn, Suseka and Sourcrates for taking time to reply,
I think the DMP is the way to go with this. I am completely new to this so I think I will go with StepChange to help me with it.0 -
Good to hear that -but still go over and check out the link I sent, or do your own research. Whilst SC will help you get your DMP up and running, its also better to be well-informed about the process and what to expect. Also, don't rush in and set the DMP up too quickly - go over and have a read of the DMP Support Thread, you'll find lots of people starting out on their DMP journey along with many of us well into one. That thread holds a lot of useful information for you too.0
