I don't quite understand the question.

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that Stepchange's negotiations or proposals include telling all creditors the total owed and offering the same pro rata amounts and timespans to all.

Can a creditor firm initiate this, on suspicion that someone owes more to other firms than they are telling, or for some other reason? First I don't see why, but also there is presumably some data protection that stops it happening without the debtor giving permission.

But I'm guessing a bit really. Why or what are you asking?

Apologies. I was just curious if a creditor can just call up at anytime to request details on what other creditors on the roll and how much is being paid to them etc without consent. This i guess is taken care of by SC anyway by the sounds of it.

    Thanks

    Hi ferry

I'd recommend you contact StepChange directly and ask them how much information they share about your other creditors. If they do inform a creditor about your other debts it would be a way to show that each creditor is being offered a fair share of what you have available. StepChange will be able to explain exactly how they operate your DMP.

    Best wishes

I am sure from memory that that stepchange do send a creditor breakdown to everyone on a yearly basis. But they wouldnt be able to discuss the other debts its just so that they can see what you owe.
