    he could have been swimming or any thing where you do not have your phone.


    Depends on the circumstances.
    Some people are paid to be available.
    If this is the case they should not make themselves unavailable for long periods of time.
    I did go swimming once with my pager at the side of the pool and kept checking it.

    Point taken but I was just using that as an example,he could have been at the hospital, anything really.

    I am on call 24 hour all the time but if I cannot be reached the call goes to the next keyholder and so on.

    I wonder if he/she did not respond at all which would be a issue for me if I did not respond at all, even if it was after the situation was resolved.

  • Why can't you just leave that problem for your "friend" to sort out?

    Never understand why so many people start a thread on behalf of a "friend" who "doesn't have internet access in 2018".
