    As said above...Unless there are health issues that would make life insurance ridiculously expensive, then getting cover to the value of the mortgage is the easiest way to deal with this issue.

    Life insurance is more expensive the older you start it, and ones which are truly whole of life and pay out on death are finally prohibitive
