Hi can anybody help,
My dad turned 65 on the 4 July 2018 he was told he would get £186 a week state pension, he was in receipt of carers allowance for my mum which he knew would stop once he received his pension, he has now had a letter today stating he won't be receiving his pension until his careers allowance has been cancelled and its out of their hands until this is done, all forms were filled in back in April 18, is there anyone who can help or point me to the right direction, want to get it sorted ASAP as my dad got diagnose with prostate cancer on his 65th birthday and my mum has the onset of alzheimer's, i live 300miles away from them and trying to get to the bottom of this as they need the pension to live.
thanks for any replies

Exactly what forms were filled in back in April? If they are to do with cancelling the Carer's Allowance so the State Pension can be paid then your dad just needs to chivvy the DWP along a bit and say that he wants to have his pension back-dated to when it should have started and the excess CA can be repaid.
Tough times for your parents - sorry to hear about that. If your mum and dad still have the capacity to manage their affairs, now would be a good time for them to set up a Lasting Power of Attorney (perhaps with you as one of the Attorneys) so that you can manage things like this for them as time passes.0
