PARV order & going bankrupt

Hi there. Can anyone give me any details on getting a PARV order and the cost involved? I'm struggling to find any solid info and I've found absolutely nothing on the cost.
It's ironic that so many benefits are out there for people struggling but if you've hit rock bottom and need to go bankrupt and protect yourself from violence you have to pay for it :rotfl:
Aside from the PARV order I think I'm good to go ahead with my bankruptcy. My business took a huge turn for the worse when the Brexit result was announced and after kidding myself that things would get better I finally decided to throw in the towel and close my business of 40 years. It's a sad time but I'm looking forward to having a fresh start. One where people don't come knocking at my door!
I'm a bit nervous about what's ahead but nothing can compare with what I've already been through. I've had a good read through these forums and found lots of solace so thanks for that =]
All the best,
Tom

Thanks for the reply. I've seen this however it's very vague and doesn't include any costing.
Cheers,

I wasn't aware there was a charge - but that seems less likely these days. I though the guidance was pretty good.0

Hi Tombo46,
According to the Insolvency Service, ‘Individuals will have to go to court if they want to apply for a PARV order. It’s possible that the court will waive the application fee given the vulnerable nature of individuals applying for PARV orders. However, it is always worth confirming this with the court.’
The link provided by TheGardener is good, and there is a little bit more information available here - https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/debt-and-money/debt-solutions/bankruptcy-2/is-bankruptcy-right-for-you/will-your-bankruptcy-be-public-knowledge/ - but ultimately you will need to take the form to the court to discuss things like a potential fee. Good luck,
Laura

Hi,
The court fee for making this application is £50 (or £165 if the court decides there needs to be a hearing). You may qualify for remission of the court fee on income grounds. some courts are waiving this fee under their own discretion.
