Halifax Waiting Times

Hi Guys,

Sitting patirntly waiting fro an answer, using help to buy and halifax application in.

Essenitally HTB approved 2 weeks ago, AIP with Halifax before that. Valuation was carried out 16.08.18 and fully expected an answer last week. Spoke to my MB and was told the house builder didnt pass the CML form to the valuer and this was all Halifax was waiting on. Assuming this would be a straight forward process but still no news. Is it just a case of the form being passed from builder to valuer to Halifax, still fearing the worst and rejection. Submitted 3 month payslip and 3 month bank statement but not had any correspondence with Halifax at all, so assuming what i have sent if okay? anyone put my mind at rest?

Builder to broker to Halifax to surveyor and surveyor to file valuation report on Halifax system once incentives checked.

Two to three working days, IMHO.

  • Thanks Kingstreet, my broker didnt tell me he had to look at it to. assuming this is a hard copy thats posted? i am having free flooring as part of the deal so hopefully that should effect the valuation. Does this sound like its pushing ahead then, the no comment from halifax for information origianlly supplied does unsettle me,

Who is going to transmit it to Halifax?

The developer doesn't have the details. They may be able to get in touch with the surveyor directly, but more likely they won't.

Therefore, someone is going to have to get it and send it based on the contact information they have.

I had one last week and I got it, sent it to Halifax, Halifax sent it to the surveyor etc as I suggested earlier.

In an ideal world the developer passes it to the surveyor at the time the inspection is booked or on the day, on paper.

    You mean shouldn't?

Lenders tend only to be bothered about the value of cash incentives, rather than non-cash.

  • Yeah I meant shouldn’t! MB said builder sent CML form last Wednesday, would this be electronically or posted?

    I've no idea.

Who did they send it to?

Sorry to jump on but would either of you know why Halifax has carried out a credit search on my husband but not on me? We have the valuation booked for tomorrow and have only been asked to supply pay slips so far x

You will have been searched (have you checked all three versions of your credit file for BOS information?) and if payslips is all they need, payslips is all you'll be asked for...
