Update !!
My daughters boyfriend has had his OR telephone interview today who was most helpful. He has been told that he will receive a NT tax code which is Nil Rate and the money he would have paid in tax will be paid to the court until discharge. The only asset he has is a £1 premium bond from childhood which he has been asked to send to the OR ! He has been allowed to keep his car valued £500 - £700 so he can get to work & visit his daughter.
From my first posting of doom & gloom & uncertainty at last there is a future for a young man who had a bank loan plus numerous credit card debts who lived at home. All his money was gone each month to pay his debts, child support etc.He was depressed, trapped & miserable.
When I met him he told me that if he was to settle down with my daughter he would be absolutely honest with us that he came with worrying debt problems. At that time debt was alien to me but I said I would help him sort out his mess. That was in june this year.I visited this site got inspired by the advice I received & set about dealing with his problems. To go BR was very worrying at the time but now it has wiped his slate clean. He has a new job,his own lodgings & has a much brighter future today. The bankruptcy was not too bad to get through & then we had the worry of the OR interview which was much better than our minds perceived.I must say everybody has treated us with respect & understanding. As I said before I have utmost respect & sympathy for those trying to sort out their financial problems. The help is there if you look for it & there is a future even if you cannot see it today. If you reading this and are worried sick about your future like we were four months ago please dont feel so desperate or suicidal as at the end ofthe day its only bloody money. We have travelled the road from debt to bankruptcy and beyond & now the there is a future new life just about to start. Thank God !
Again may I thank you all for your kind support

Tony, thanks for the update and showing that there can be an end to the worry and stress.
You've been such a support to your daughters BF, most fathers would have told their daughters to run a mile from him, but not you!
The premium bond is irratating, i had £2 that i'd held from birth and had to return them. That meant each creditor got 33p!!!!!
Its great to see someone who has come through all this and still finds the time to post a comment that thanks people for the help and support.
Good luck for the future of your daughters BF, and yourself. The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter
