Agree with Sammyjammy, speak to your current mortgage provider to see what they can offer.
We just remortgaged with Santander. Not only did they give us a good deal compared to the rest of the market, they were willing to let us switch immediately (in the last 6 months i think, although we were lax and only spoke to them with 3 to go), rather than waiting for the minimum term to end. No credit check or re-valuation required.3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). Our mortgage offer comes to an end in a few months so am hoping to find a good offer. Spoke to an advisor already in prep but he is talking about a 5yr fix he said he would send details but apparently I could save £4k in total. Who was yours with as it is the credit check that worries me.
As I said in my post check with your own lender what retention deals they offer, most high street lenders have them that way you won't need a broker or a credit check."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
You can get that food shop down a lot more than that - we pay £240 a month for a family of five with grown up children and a hungry 7 yr old I cook from scratch and we eat really well

We remortgaged with out current lender a few months ago. It was just a product switch. We didn't even have to go into the branch. It was just a case of logging on to our internet banking and selecting from a variety of rates. We went for a 3 year fixed deal. £10 a month more, but peace of mind for 3 years. No credit checks or anything.0

You can lower the groceries figure even with eating free from stuff. Lidls does a decent range now so I expect Aldis do as well. Cut back on things like snacks alcohol, packaged meals etc and do bulk cooking and meal planning. It will be tough for a few years but at that level of debt and with only a few hundred of disposable income it will take a while to get the level down. Remortgage with your current lender and hopefully they wont credit check.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Yes we have paid some off but our biggest car (in terms of payment) is on HP so the total value of the car in terms of what we could sell it for is less than the remaining amount on the finance. We won't be paying the balloon payment and will be handing it back in two years definitely. It is the same but to a lesser extend with our other vehicle if we were to sell it today we would be in negative equity.
And what happens in 2 years time, will you be taking out another PCP/HP deal on a £10K+ car? If your at your half way point now it may be time to hand it back and get yourself a good £2/3K car.0 -
Thank you for this, do you just call and ask for the superserve team? Do they then look at the offer on file and suggest it to you?
Thanks
