Hi All
Sorry title should say 20 years!!
I made this thread 3 and a bit years ago: forums.moneysaving
expert.com/showthread.php?p=68416764 (sorry not allowed to post links)
I didn't reply to the letter and have heard nothing since. Just looking at clearing up my credit file and to my horror found the following on my noddle account!!
Link Financial (Honours Student Loans)
£ 4,266
07/08/2018
Default
Account type Student Loan
Account number **************8642 0
Account start date 15/02/1996
Opening balance £ 4,068
Repayment frequency Monthly
Date of default 27/04/2016
Default balance £ 4,068
(also looking at the monthly 'DF' markers they seem to be adding £12 a month onto the amount owed)
Firstly: I went bankrupt in 2003 (see previous thread). Secondly, surely the debt was statute barred a long time ago - how can they default on it 20 years later?
What do i do? is this going to cause me credit problems? how do i get it removed? i don't want to stir up things unnecessarily but i also don't want this sitting on my credit report...
Thanks in advance
