Just to put this in perspective, it's not only the German discounters who fail on CS. Ocado's CS is similarly useless, for all its protestations to the contrary!
Ocado's service is fabulous when it works, but if you have a query, CS resorts to the usual template tango.0 -
Depends where you live......2 new Lidl around here are fantastic but 2 Aldi are bl00dy awful
I'm sure it's down to store management. We have 4 Aldi local to me. 3 of them are absolutely fine, 1 is like a jumble sale!
I know they don't have a customer service desk as such but on the rare occasions I've needed to take anything back it's always been a no quibble refund at the till point.
I have tried emailing Aldi Customer Services about items that have disappeared in the past and the responses are always obtuse. I suspect it's because they can no longer source them at a similar price but they won't say that.
I rarely shop at Lidl but ,although I like many of their products, both my local ones always have queues at the till points. They don't seem to have the same policy of opening and closing as Aldi or they employ fewer staff.:(0 -

I found a really nice cotton polo shirt but the size 18/20 looked much nearer a 12 or 14 at most. I emailed them and when I eventually got a reply all they said was to take it back for a refund, nothing was said about my query re the sizes. I bought some socks and they would have just about fitted my childhood teddy bear :rotfl:
My experience of German firms is that their clothes sizing is generous. Am I being cynical or is this another way they keep their prices low?
I asked a Lidl shop worker why they didn't put a UK equivalent sizes chart above clothes offers and he said they used to but were told to take them down!0 -

Try telling that to VfM4meplse and she'll put you over a barrel :rotfl: actually you may be okay since it's Ocado and not Lidl0 -

I actually think they don't have the information and just fire off a generic answer. So unless it's progressed beyond first line of support you will never really know.0
