Returning to UK Tax

- you do not live in the property with a lodger therefore you will no longer be entitled to LR at all
- the final period exemption (after April 2020) will be 9 months for everyone and anyone
Thanks, yes I got the first bit, was just unsure of the second final period exemption part.
So if I returned to UK I would still get PRR for the time I lived in the property in the property + 9 months, but no LR. If I stay non resident then will still get CGT exemption for the period until 5 April 2015.0 -
Sorry one more thing I just thought off.
Assuming I sell and remain non resident. Gain is only due for period after 5 April 2015, can I then take off the PRR for the time I lived in the property (5 years) + 9 months even though this was before 5 April 2015.
for example, say the gain after 5 April 2015 is calculated at 40,000, could I then take off another 20,000 (PRR + 9 months) and then AEA (40,000-20,000-11,700=8,300 taxable). Thanks.0
